Year End Wrap-Up

Wow, that year sure flew by.  I guess I really am getting older.  Faster.  It was a huge year for me and for a lot of people… filled with some really high highs and really low lows.  Mountains and valleys ya’ll.  Grateful to be along for the ride though.  Here’s what’s going on in my composing world and what I’m looking forward to next year.

So, if you’ve been to my page at all, you’ve probably noticed that I wrote the music for this little indie game that could, Owlboy.  We released it last month on Nov. 1st and have been blown away by the reception from the critics and fans.  Right now is a great time to grab the game as it’s 20 percent off on STEAM!  Or if you’re just not into the gaming thing, go buy the OST on Bandcamp!

Heart Forth, Alicia

Still working on HFA with Alonso Martin.  I’m getting close to having all the music complete.  And then I’ll be adding in live instrument overdubs just as I did with Owlboy.  I recently played through the first part of the game again and it is really shaping up to be something special.  I can’t wait to share this one with you all.

Cook, Serve, Delicious 2

Also getting close to completion with the sequel to the wildly popular Cook, Serve, Delicious.  I actually haven’t played any of this one yet, but I am SOOoooo excited to!  The first one was a blast, and the soundtrack has been so much fun to work on.

The Art Song Cycle

This is a project I started back in December 2013.  I wrote a song for voice and piano trio based on Walt Whitman’s poem, “A Noiseless, Patient Spider” and it turned out wonderfully.  I decided to write an entire art song cycle based on different poems by Whitman, Frost, Rimbaud and others.  The original goal was to write it over the course of 2014 and have it done by the end of that year… but… you know… LIFE.  So I’ve got 6 or 7 pieces done and now I want to reignite the fire.  This is definitely a passion project, but I’m excited to focus on finishing it this year and get a recording done!
